Our mission is to support the development of a multi-engine world where companies pick the best engine for the job and companies own their data. We are a team of industry veterans, backed by leading VCs, on a mission to push the boundaries of what’s possible in an effort to dramatically improve the lives of data engineers and data scientists around the world.
Role overview
We’re looking for a Product Designer to own the end-to-end user experience of Tower. In this role, you’ll partner with our founders, engineers, and customers to translate complex data and infrastructure concepts into simple but powerful interfaces. You’ll be responsible for shaping the visual identity of our platform and working with the rest of the product team to define all the interaction patterns every touchpoint with Tower.
This is a high-impact role for someone who thrives at the intersection of design, technology, and product strategy. You’ll have the opportunity to influence not just how Tower looks, but how it feels to use, helping us build a developer platform that engineers love.
What you’ll do
- Lead design across Tower’s product surfaces: CLI, UI, and developer tools.
- Translate complex technical workflows into clear and approachable experiences for technical users.
- Develop and maintain a cohesive design system and visual language that scales with the product and brand.
- Collaborate with product leadership to shape overall strategy and roadmap.
- Drive user research and UX testing with data engineers and data scientists to deeply understand their needs.
- Provide guidance to the development process with wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity visuals.
- Advocate for design thinking and user empathy across the company, raising the bar for usability and polish.
What we’re looking for
- Significant proven experience in product design for developer tools and/or technical products, with a portfolio to match.
- Ability to simplify highly technical concepts into experiences that feel natural and intuitive for developers.
- Expertise with modern design tools like Figma and familiarity with design systems and component libraries.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to articulate design decisions to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- A collaborative mindset—you thrive in environments where designers, engineers, and product managers work side by side.
